Laos, Russian discuss border radio frequency coordination security
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications is paying attention to radio frequency coordination along the borders, aiming to secure the frequencies and address national security matters. The MPT, in collaboration with the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation, held a seminar on February 13 on radio frequency coordination along the nation’s borders. The meeting was attended by Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Dr Thansamy Kommasith, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Lao PDR, Mr Mikhail Baranov along with concerned government officials and private sector operators. The seminar has brought together experts from the MPT and Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications to share information and experiences, enhance knowledge on frequency planning and to understand the appropriate principles of frequency management along border areas to ensure the frequencies used along the border are effective and efficient and in compliance with concerned regulations, as well as addressing national security matters.
